The folk rock classic still sounds great today.
Recorded in late 1965 in Columbia Studios NYC, the second studio album from the duo under this name was released back when full albums were still sort of a nebulous thing. Versions of songs were added and dropped depending where it the record was released (UK vs. US) and songs from previous singles/albums were added.
Things would tighten up in the late 60's on that front but Sounds of Silence still resonates with excellent music from the duo, breaking them out into the big time.
One, some might say 'double great', thing about this anniversary is the cover art, which the excellent Patriot played off of in their best episode. Check out that show if you haven't.
