Popular music was never really the same after this one...
There is a music website that does a 'Perfect 10' series on social media and RtBE has thought about this a lot. There are very few, if any, albums that fall into that category around here. This album just may be one that does.
Ramones Ramones is the true solidification of punk rock as an ethos and musical form. Starting a revolution in style, substance and sound, the album is top to bottom (and beyond really) a force of nature.
From the iconic cover photo to the final notes of "Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World", the band announce their presence and change that world. While it might not be RtBE"s personal favorite Ramones record, it is their statement and culturally significant. In truth, you can start with this and play the first four Ramones records back to back and RtBE would be happy and have a hard time choosing the truly best record, they were in the zone.
Today it is the debut's turn though, so let's celebrate 50 years of it's existence, play it loud. Here are a few songs to get started:
