Dylan Cover #611 Sussan Deyhim "All I Really Want To Do"

In this ongoing Monday Series we will be exploring various artists versions of Bob Dylan song's. Today's tune is a cover by Sussan Deyhim playing "All I Really Want To Do"

This month we are doing another special focus in RtBE's Dylan Covers series.

For November and December we highlight covers from: Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International

Thoughts on Original:
(From the first time we talked about a cover version of this song)
This easy rolling song made Dylan leaving the "cause" and "topical songs" behind easier for his hardcore fans to swallow, because really, how can anyone dislike this song?  Simple, playful, loving, sly..."All I Really Want To Do"  has it all. Oh and he left nothing behind, in fact he opened up a cosmos of music for the world to experience, be inspired from, and enjoy, long after he is gone.

Thoughts On Cover Artist:
I have not heard of Sussan Deyhim before. She is an Iranian-American composer, vocalist, performance artist, and activist

Thoughts On Cover:
Here is a cover style RtBE can get behind, completely reimagining the Dylan original in a unique way. While the final result may not be our favorite, you can not fault Deyhim for mixing things up. In fact, we would like it better if it stayed in the opening swirling percussive style more, when Deyhim shifts into ballad mode, things are just OK.
