Young joins for "Splendid Isolation" here and Zevon is in fine form. Pro shot, Pro Sound, full set list below. Enjoy!

Live Streams: Phish 7/24/93 Great Woods
With live music on lock down (like everything else currently in New York City) live streams and old concerts have become essential for live music junkies like RtBE. While this current state of pandemic separation is in order we will highlight various shows/streams/virtual events for your viewing and listening pleasure and you can always check out or weekly Full Show Friday series for concerts from the past. Please support the artists any which way you can.
Phish's Dinner and Movie Series is back with a Great Woods show from Summer '93.
The shared recipe is from Cull & Pistol/Lobster Place owner Dave Seigal. RtBE has enjoyed food from Seigal and his team many times in the past.
To get in the mood for this show, here is Phish playing one of their best jams of all-time back in 1993. Bathtub Gin from the Murat Theater:

Bob Dylan to Open Renovated Philly Met on 12/3
One of RtBE's patron saints, Bob Dylan will be opening the renovated and rejuvenated Philly Met on December 3rd.
One of RtBE's favorite all time Dylan concerts took place in Philly back in 2002. You can see the set list here, but it doesn't do it justice to just what an amazing night of music and hanging with friends it truly was.
The bard has not yet announced his annual NYC gathering around Thanksgiving. Usually Dylan will play The Beacon or comparable venue for a few nights before Turkey Day, but his camp has been silent on any announcements as his tour had ended on the 20th in Connecticut until the news he will be playing Philly broke.
Here's hoping some NYC dates get added really soon, as the last time we caught Dylan was a fantastic night of tunes, the best we have seen him in years and it ended up being one of our favorites of 2017.
To hopefully put good vibes into the ether, here are some live Dylan tunes which have not yet been taken down from youtube. These are from Dylan's amazing run at The Supper Club in 1993 to get ready for his Unplugged performance...hmm RtBE should write some more about these shows one day...:

Happy Thanksgiving from RtBE!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Make sure you spend some time over this holiday doing what is truly important...Watching The Last Waltz:
Also make sure to enjoy your time with loved ones and family. As a famous man once said, "Enjoy Every Sandwich"...especially the leftover turkey, mashed potato, stuffing and gravy ones on potato rolls...
The last few years we have thrown it back to Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades of the past and this years no different. Here is the 1993 Thanksgiving Day Parade:

This week we are heading to Mountain View, California back in 1993 for the Steely Dan reunion tour. If RtBE is being honest, Steely Dan never did it for us, but it is a short work week and we already gave you a full show on the 4th of July from a better band anyway. All of the info regarding the show can be found below the video. Enjoy:
From the youtube page:
For some unknown reason, there are freeze frames at the beginning of all of the songs from this video. That flaw aside, this is still the best video I’ve seen from the reunion tour, seeing as the Nashville show is skippy, and the two audience videos I have from Philadelphia and Jones Beach are low-quality (I will be sharing at least portions of them though). This video is also pretty rare and not nearly as commonly sold/traded/shared as the Nashville one, so enjoy!
Instrumental Medley (The Royal Scam, Bad Sneakers, Aja) 0:12

Full Show Friday: Alice In Chains 1-22-93

Setlist:
Dam The River
We Die Young
Them Bones
Would?
Love, Hate, Love
Junkhead
Godsmack
Bleed The Freak
Put You Down
It Ain't Like That
Hate To Feel
Angry Chair
Man In The Box
To these ears, Alice In Chains made the quintessential "grunge" album with Dirt. RtBE still often goes back to listen to it. Dirt was a real kick to the ears and mind back in 1993 and while drugs were a huge part of it, the blending of grinding low end and the soaring highs from Cantrell and Staley are a winning combo.
Today's full show friday is from the bands last show with original bassist Mike Starr. You can read about that elsewhere, but whatever their issues this band could rock. Pro Sound and Pro Video (from 1993), full setlist below. Enjoy:

Full Show Friday: Santana Montreux 1993
Last year we searched the murky back waters of youtube to find full concerts and posted them to the site monthly. That was all well and good but this year RtBE is upping the ante with a show every week to celebrate Full Show Friday's.
These shows are of varying quality and may not be here for long so
enjoy them while you can...As always, please support the artist every
which way, but especially by seeing them live (if they are still
playing)...This week...Santana!
Santana is interesting, for a guy who clearly has so much soul and is ultra spiritual with his playing he can get awfully cheesy at times. That mix makes him palpable to the masses and still endears him to guitar junkies. Here at this pro-shot, pro-sound show from Montreux in 93 he pairs back up with a guitar partner from his 70's fusion period, John McLaughlin a giant in his own right.
The show starts with Santana dedicating "Somewhere In Heaven" to Miles Davis who both played guitarists played with. The tune is a good microcosm of Santana with it's light FM lyrics mixed with frantic musical interludes. "Life is For Living" pops up as does "Make Somebody Happy/Get It In your Soul" which lets bassist Myron Dove slap it to funky town. The show closes with one of the best Santana songs, "Jingo".
Enjoy the concert:
Carlos Santana - Guitarra
Chester Thompson - Teclados
John McLaughlin - Guitarra
Alex Ligertwood - Vocal
Raul Rekow - Conga
Karl Perazzo - Timbal
Wilfrido Reyes - Bateria
Myron Dove - Bajista

Monday Dead 2-23-1993 Oakland, CA
This Monday we are picking a a show from a year we haven't touched upon yet here at Rock The Body Electric...1993. Not the best of years from the fellas as the end was pretty near, but that doesn't mean there aren't any high points, and this is one...
Mardi Gras 2-23-1993 in Oakland California. Click that link or listen right c'here:
This recording is spot on, if a bit sterile, but it sounds straight from the Soundboard. The bass sound is pretty loose and piano is pretty high in the mix as well, with Vince Welnick twinkling the ivories very admirably on this night. The first set is pretty standard 90's style Dead, not much energy but lucid excursions. They were never in a hurry to do much of anything towards the end, but "Loser" benefits from this slow pacing. "Way To Go Home" and "Stuck Inside A Mobile..." are skippable, but the first does hold one little treasure, the bands first ever performance of "Broken Arrow". It is fun to hear Phil sing this Robbie Robertson song, the Dead pulled this one out quite a bit in it's last few years, and I am a sucker for it. One of my favorite Phil and Friends shows has a fun version of it, and the Dead even played it when they sung through Albany a month after today's show:
"Johnny B Goode" ends the set on a high note, letting Jerry shred a bit before the band breaks, returning with the Mardi Gras tradition of Drums into "Iko Iko".
The first part of the second set is a bit weak in my opinion, I could do without "Corrina" and this Lazy River Road is average at best, but things really start to come together when the band dips into "Playing In The Band". The drums and the digeridoo come out with Ornette Coleman and Graham Wiggins, and here is what set this show apart.
The Godfather of Free Jazz and the the Dead seem like a perfect fit, but Ornette Coleman only played with the group twice in 1993, this being the first and the better of the 2 shows. While the Dead were in obvious decline, Ornette was just starting a rebirth, he put out a bunch of albums in the 90's and started to be recognized more and more for his greatness. While it would have been epic for them to jam at both of their peaks, this is a pretty fun excursion. Things start off with "Space" as both prties are well accustomed to performing without a net in the sonic realms. Garcia in particular loves this combo and gets freaky with his tone as he chases Ornette who is rolling out saxophone licks. Garcia actually played with Ornette on his Virgin Beauty album in 88 so the two had been friends and musically connected.
As things start to coalesce with the musicians the rhythm boys want to have some fun so they start pumping the low end for "The Other One" which leads to some fireworks. The scrambling to start the song moves the band in multiple directions with squawks from the sax branching out this is not your ordinary "Other One" with it's building peaks that soar higher and higher; a uniquely excellent version of this song. "Stella Blue" manages to sound revolutionary and triumphant, the tune is expertly adjusted to by Coleman, ideally a mix that downplayed Vince a bit and amped Coleman would be ideal, but this is what we have. The "Lovelight" is simply one of the best post-Pigpen versions that is out there. The encore of "Brokedown Palace" is dynamite and just dominates with Coleman's blowing presence.
You can download the Ornette section, which makes this show special, right c'here. Happy Grateful Dead Monday with a saxophone twist...here's some Ornette for the road, "Dancing In Your Head":
