Thanks to our friend Noah for send us this amazing story. Kotaku dives into the mystery but it is official, "Over Your Shoulder", a song which was never released as a single, never had a video made, and was part of an album released in 1994, is number one in Japan, based on youtube views.
The track from 1994's Without A Sound is a fine, typical Dino Jr tune, if a bit dull compared to the bands other outings, but then again Without A Sound isn't our favorite album of theirs. A few years ago we ran down our rankings of the trio's records for a Glide and it was towards the bottom.
We also did a feature where we selected one song from each of the bands records to showcase. "Over Your Shoulder" didn't make that one either as we chose "I Don't Think So" from Without A Sound.
Pretty crazy story (got to love the Japanese keeping it weird) but this along with Tidal's fudging makes the charts seem a little suspect. However, if this gets Dinosaur Jr. a headlining tour of Japan ala Spinal Tap when "Sex Farm" hit it big, that would be a hell of story.
