In this ongoing Monday Series we will be exploring various artists versions of Bob Dylan song's. Today's tune comes from Margot Cotten and is a live cover of "Sara"
This month we are doing another special focus in RtBE's Dylan Covers series. In the past we have highlighted The Byrds, Coulson-Dean-McGuiness-Flint, The Hollies, Joan Osbourne, Mountain, Betty LeVette , Reggae Covers and more.
This month we highlight Margot Cotten who we have featured twice earlier in this series, but now devote the full month to her Dylan Covers.
Thoughts On Original:
Truth be told Sara is RtBE's least favorite Dylan song. The myth of the man was laid bare and things just aren't all that pretty or destructive in an artistic way (say like "Idiot Wind"). The tone is just pleading and a whining to these ears. While Scarlet Rivera's violin works wonderfully on certain Desire tracks, this one just drags on. That said, it can always be improved upon with some cover ideas....

Thoughts on Cover Artist:
RtBE dig her sound and style. From Cotten's bio: Margot Cotten is the only French girl who can actually play americana without blushing. Playing drums, guitars and keys, she is a multi-talented singer songwriter. Make sure to watch her new videos on Sundays. She plays covers by Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Elton John, Cat Stevens, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Neil Young etc as well as her own material.

Thoughts on Cover:
A fine live acoustic cover helped along by Louise Lhermitte violin work with the tempo a touch quicker than the original which helps.
