Dylan Cover #552 Brigid Mae Power "One More Cup Of Coffee"

In this ongoing Monday Series we will be exploring various artists versions of Bob Dylan song's. Today's tune is a cover by Brigid Mae Power playing "One More Cup of Coffee"

This month we are doing another special focus in RtBE's Dylan Covers series. In the past we have highlighted The ByrdsCoulson-Dean-McGuiness-FlintThe HolliesJoan OsbourneMountainBetty LeVette , Reggae Covers and many more.

This month we highlight Dylan...Revisited for a full month of Dylan Covers.

Thoughts on Dylan Original:
From the first time we tackled a cover of this tune:
Bob's story tunes seemed to crest on Desire and "One More Cup Of Coffee" fits in the Western/Biblical/Mystical motif of both "Isis" and "Romance In Durango" but puts fourth a more ominous feel than either. Singing with Emmylou Harris on the original recording a haunting combo of voices which gets along perfectly with violins and other rag tag players from the sessions. A damn good song.

Thoughts on Cover Artist:
This is the first time RtBE has heard Brigid Mae Power.

Thoughts on Cover:
The song retains the mysterious southwestern vibes of the original while delivering haunting vocals from Power. A pretty straight laced cover that retains the originals spirit.
