Album Review: TVO - Fall In A Pit

TVO
Fall In A Pit EP
**and1/2 out of *****

The newest brief three song EP from the Philadelphia, PA based freaky punk rockers TVO is a blast of cathartic energy. Clocking in at just over five minutes the three songs on Fall In A Pit clang and bang with raucous vitality as they deliver the noisy goods.

Opener "(Sha Na Na) It Ain't Gonna Be Alright" sets the tone with a mix of sloppy and tight as the group slams razor sharp guitars and blaring saxophone lines together around a pounding low end. The speedy drums and bass of "Crisco Cops" propel the band forward before the closing title track pushes feedback and groovy punk into overdrive until the band devolves into free-punk noise to close.

The playing is upbeat rowdy and set to careen off the rails at any given moment; vital elements to successful punk rock with this slathering of noise on top. Now a few EP's deep into their career TVO are blaring into the void with reckless abandon and primal passion.
