Dylan Cover #507 Dayne Rothbletz "Lay Lady Lay" Live

In this ongoing Monday Series we will be exploring various artists versions of Bob Dylan song's. Today's tune is a live cover by Dayne Rothbletz playing "Lay Lady Lay"

Thoughts on Original:
From the first time we addressed a cover of this tune:
Excellent track and the first time the world heard Dylan's new singing style, which would only last for Nashville Skyline. This song is the standout track from this album, it is a classic and so simple, yet sweet and timeless. One of Dylan's best tracks, this phase was the the closest to "country" he ever got and "Lay Lady Lay" is an overall fantastic piece of music.

Thoughts on Cover Artist:
This is RtBE's first time hearing Rothbletz.

Thoughts on Cover:
Rothbletz tries out two singing styles, a "normal" and an interruption of Dylan's vocal performance he broke out for Nashville Skyline only. Very few artists in this series go to these lengths to mimic his sound from this era.  Certainly a unique version of this tune.
