In this ongoing Monday Series we will be exploring various artists versions of Bob Dylan song's. This week we have Danny Fox, doing a live cover of "If You Gotta Go, Go Now".
Thoughts on Original:
A very cool tune that was unearthed on the fantastic Bootleg Series Vol 1-3. This track is fun, playful, devious, winking, perfect Dylan. It has the feeling of a tossed off song, but even Dylan's b-cut's are still gems and this is no exception. I also love how Bob laughs and fumbles through a few words about a dark door, very endearing...even when Bob is being creepy.

Thoughts on Cover Artist:
I have never heard of Danny Fox before. There are a few Danny Fox's online, but I can't seem to find this other then a few youtube clips. As mentioned often (but not lately) part of the reason for this series is just finding random artists covering the Bard, and Mr. Fox seems like a fun one.
Thoughts On Cover:
Really Cool cover, straight ahead in Dylan's hometown. Very little deviation, but not much really needed on this underplayed song. Not much more to say, enjoy this one on a recovery Monday.
Grade: B-
