Live Stream: 2024 Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival

We are now heading into the new normal with live music during the Covid-19 and beyond era. Live shows will need to be flexible and live streaming is a great way to keep music going. Streams have become essential for live music junkies like RtBE.  We will highlight various shows/streams/virtual events for your viewing and listening pleasure and as a way to help out the artists. You can check out our weekly Full Show Friday series for concerts from the past and as always, please support the artists any which way you can.

The 2024 Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival is happening today and tomorrow down in New Orleans. You can stream the event over at WWOZ. Here is the lineup:

Happy 30th Anniversary to The Beastie Boys Ill Communication, released this day in 1994. 

The Beasties were hugely influential on RtBE from everything to music to fashion and Ill Communication was a big one, hitting when we were in high school. 

Punk Rock Mini-Golf Next Two Weekends on Staten Island

For the next two weekend the punk invade the mini golf out on Staten Island.

Some RtBE favs will be playing including Murphy's Law.

In years past we have delivered a Sazerwrap to catalog our personal Jazzfest experience, so we will continue this year. 

We have reviewed some of the shows we caught already and it should be stated: Jazzfest in New Orleans is RtBE's absolute favorite time of the year.

Cedric Burnside was born into the blues. The grandson of hill country blues legend RL Burnside, Cedric has been playing the family music his whole life. His previous album, I Be Trying felt like a professional breakthrough as his voice and guitar work took center stage while the blues flowed out naturally. It won Burnside a GRAMMY (along with being one of RtBE's favorite albums of 2021) and the follow up, Hill Country Love, is more of the same down-home goodness.

New single from Diamanda Galás as the composer/pianist delivers her live version of the Mexican folk song "La Llorona" from her upcoming live album to be released June 14th.
