Album Review: Warcollapse - Bound to Die EP

Warcollapse
Bound To Die EP
**and1/2 out of *****

The four song EP from Sweden's old school ragers Warcollapse is a distorted smash of sound as the band blitzkriegs through Bound To Die.

Out on Phobia Records, which is based out of the Czech Republic, Bound To Die delivers pummeling D-beat hardcore punk with speaker shaking noise. Opener "Manipulerad" is a highlight, using rattling cymbals and stutter guitar riffs all around the blasting drums, which shift into great grooving metal before a wailing solo.

Rumbling bass kicks off the title track as guttural growls spit out the phrase around the chaos. "Skin One Up" pumps with a head banging intensity while closer "Hate and Disdain" slows down the ferocity to play with echoing vocals and vibrating solos before those filthy drums slam home the short EP.

The veteran Swedish crust punks Warcollapse have been thrashing about since the early 90's and continue to do the dirty work on Bound To Die.
